Mrs. Settje grew up on a farm north of Leigh. She also has 2 step-sons and 5 step-grandchildren and a dog named Scruffy.

 
Cindy graduated from Leigh High School. She obtained a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and Music from Midland Lutheran College and has earned 36 graduate hours at Wayne State College.

Mrs. Settje has taught for a total of 25   years,6 years at District 5R, 6 years at Creston, and 13 years at Leigh Elementary.

Mrs. Settje is married to Mike Settje. Together, they have 3 children: Tara, Lauren, and Alex.
