Mission
Statement
FBLA provides its members with the
necessary skills to successfully compete in the job market, pursue
post-secondary education, or manage personal skills.
While participating in group
projects, chapter meetings and community involvement, skills are learned which
help members gain an understanding of the way business works.
Classroom instruction is often not
enough to develop an understanding of the business leadership skills which are
needed to have a successful business career. Leadership and participation skills
are taught in group discussions, meetings, conferences and within committees all
while engaging in practical problem-solving and decision-making activities
involving service, education and progress.
A competitive spirit and recognition of
excellence helps reflect important aspects of the educational process used in
FBLA, which prepares members for their roles in the American enterprise system.
Practical opportunities are provided in which
members achieve success through participation in career-related activities which
are designed to reach professional goals. These opportunities help create a
knowledge of business principles.
A means of learning correct and accepted social
and business behavior is achieved though contact with teachers, advisers,
employers and business people while members develop confidence in their own
abilities.
