Tips for College and Scholarship Applications
¨ Read the directions carefully
¨ Include a cover letter if the form is very simple
¨ Type EVERYTHING
¨ Keep the same style throughout the application
¨ Do not just list activities and awards, Explain them
¨ Keep everything neat
¨ Allow at least one week when requesting recommendation letters and transcripts
¨ Turn in applications early
¨ If forms do not allow enough room write “see attached”
¨ Keep copies of everything
¨ Have someone proof read all papers
¨ Include a resume
