Grade 1

1st grade

Our class is getting used to our daily routines and schedule. We have been doing a good job of remembering to take our homework folders home, complete our work and return them back to school on the next day. This is no small accomplishment for a 6 or 7 year old! Way to go and keep up the great work! We have so much to learn in first grade!

We welcomed three new students to our class this year. Jason Carr and Mackenzie Estes joined us at the start and Jordan Allbee joined us at the end of September.

On September 18th we had the pleasure of going to Stuhr Museum in Grand Island to attend their Families on the Farm class. We had a terrific time learning what life was like over 100 years ago. Feeding the chickens, helping do the wash and hauling in buckets of water were just a few of the tasks children would of had to do. And we think hauling out the garbage is hard! Special thanks to Mrs. Jaixen for going with us.

We have been working hard on our new reading series since the beginning of the year. I'm quite certain that the majority of the students would respond that their favorite part of it is when Lion Puppet comes out of his den to help them learn their letter sounds!
