Seventh Grade

lindsayWelcome to the Seventh Grade web page.  In seventh grade we are learning so many wonderful things. We recently had a field trip on October third at Lakeview. It was Seventh Project. Seventh Project told and showed us to choose right decisions like school, sex, friends, drugs, peer pressure, and the masks. The masks are where we put on different personalities for different people like our friends, teachers, and family. Seventh Project even played a few songs about making the right choices. This field trip is a trip that we will never forget.

Science is one amazing class, I can tell you that. We are learning about stars, constellations, and all the colors and rays. Mrs. Adamson is teaching us about how stars die and how they are born. She even showed us a cool way to look up at the constellations in the sky by a little circular chart. We never knew that the sun was just a medium sized star. We didn’t even know that it was a star! We also learned about the colors of the rays such as ultraviolet, x-rays, and so on. The colors are visible light like red, orange, yellow, green, purple, and blue. We also benlove Mrs. Adamson teaching us this because she makes the class so alive and not so boring.

Mr. Thoms is such a cool teacher. It’s great having him teach us Health and P.E. In Health, we are learning about stress and how we can deal with it. We also are learning about the you-message and I-message. We just had a test too, and all of us passed and got really good grades. In P.E. we are doing flag football. He just gave us a test on it to make sure that we know the rules, the yards, the points, and what's allowed and what's not.

Reading with Mr. Bentz is so fun. He chooses the best books too. We have read the "Outsiders" and we are in the ending of our second book called, “Where the Red Fern Grows”. To make sure that we have actually been reading the book, he gives us worksheets about what happened in each chapter. We can’t wait to read the next book, Mr. Bentz gives us.

allieIn Computer we are just doing typing lessons to sharpen up our skills. Mrs. Schure makes it easy, actually. We have go through tests that sharpen up speed and accuracy. We also have to have the good posture. This class is a breeze and we are all getting good grades. She is one of the best teachers, I think.

Mostly everyone thinks math is really hard, but it’s not. We just say it in our head, that is it.  All those fractions, decimals, ratios and all those numbers are so confusing, but Mrs. Adamson makes it easy. We are learning the AOS system, which is a system where a problem has two or more signs like 4+5-2x3=21. We just had a test on it, too.

October twenty-second through the twenty-sixth is Red Ribbon week. Red Ribbon Week is Drug Awareness week. redribbonOur student council, Mrs. Adamson, and Mrs. Jarecki have been making this week very exciting. The people on student council are Jaide Smith (the president), Amelia Becher (vice president), Taytum Steuben (secretary), Dalton Saltz (treasurer), Christian Loseke, Jarret Mohrmann, Sarah Bohrer, and last, but not least, Jackie Schaaf. For Red Ribbon Week, the kids have been dressing up in all sorts of styles. On Monday it was Red Day, Tuesday was P.J Day, Wednesday is Sports day, Thursday is Opposite Gender Day, and Friday is Funky Fashion/Crazy Hair Day. Bracelets, tying ribbons on a tree, pictures, hugs not drugs, and best dressed are some of the activities. We all love Red Ribbon Week. Make sure you stay away from drugs!

As you can see, seventh grade is awesome and we love it. We have the most amazing teachers and the most fun activities. Seventh grade is our favorite year, yet, especially when Mrs. Adamson is teaching it. We know that we will have have fun when these teachers are around. What would we do without them?
