This is our page of many sites found on the Internet that offer Freeware and Shareware software for use on your computer. If you don't know the difference between freeware and shareware, please take a look at the Some Useful Hints section.
Freeware - Software that you download onto your computer that is free to use as long as you want.
Shareware - Software that usually comes with a trial period. You are encouraged to pay for the software. With some shareware, you will receive technical help. Most are reasonably priced!
You should first create a download file on your computer and place all downloaded software there so it is easier to find once you are ready to install.
If the software's name is followed by an .exe, this means that it is a self extracting file and all you have to do is click on the name for the software to begin loading.
If the software's name is followed by a .zip, this means that it is a zipped or compress file. You will need to unzip the file with some type of unzip software such as WinZip for Windows or Dropstuff for Macs.
You need to install an antivirus software if you are going to download software. Better safe than sorry.
Clean out your files once in awhile so that they are not wasting space, especially if you have not use them in awhile.
Note - most of these sites contain software for PCs though many do have software for Macs.
Have Fun!
