The Olson Nature Preserve is a representation of native ecosystems and biological diversity in northeast Nebraska. This memorial site of 77 acres was created from the Grant and Berenice Olson Estate and is located nine miles north of Albion or four miles south and two miles west of Petersburg. The land was set aside for educational purposes and environmental preservation. The Preserve is utilized by schools from a five county area, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. At present the prairie is a primitive site open to anyone interested in environmental education. Comments or questions may be directed to Carol Eischeid at Petersburg Public School.
