The Olson Nature Preserve is a representation of native ecosystems and biological diversity in northeast Nebraska.


Beaver Creek meanders through the basin subirrigating a variety of trees.



Sandbars support a variety of plant and animal life during the dry summer.



Turtle doves are one of many species of birds that use the Preserve as nesting grounds.



Bluffs on the south border of the Preserve display the soil layering that has occured throughout the eons of time.



A boggy area is an oxbow formation of the Beaver Creek and is a treasure trove of aquatic life.
