The Early Development Network is a collaborative effort of the Nebraska Departments of Education and the Health & Human Services to serve infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. If they are found eligible for services, a family sets goals and works with special education providers to meet their goals in the home through their routines and family activities. Services Coordinators serve as resource specialists who can help families navigate programs and find resources they need that they are unfamiliar with. Children who are three to five can also receive special education services through their school district if they are found eligible for services. The special education provider works with preschool teachers and parents to set participation based goals and determine services in community, private and public preschools. If a child is not attending preschool, services can also take place in the home.
